Biographical Information:



Bruce H. Edwards is Press Secretary for Lexington, Kentucky Mayor Teresa Ann Isaac. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he spent 13 years as a television and radio journalist, specializing government, education, and sports. He left the media to become Media Relations Director for Kentucky State University in the administration of Dr. Mary L. Smith.

He is a published author of a book of poetry titled Things on my Mind…Selected Rejected, and Accepted Poems. His second book of poetry, Whispers from the Revolution, is scheduled to be released in 2004. He is also a sought after public speaker and speechwriter.

He is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning, a member of the National PTA, Project 2019, and the National Association of Black Journalists. He is also a tutor in adult basic literacy.

He is married to Lavona Davidson-Edwards; they have two adult children, a son living in Minneapolis, Minnesota and a daughter who is a first year college student.
